Beat Energy Cost Rises By Switching Tariffs

Householders are being warned that gas and electricity bills are expected to rise again this winter and are being advised to switch over to fixed price tariffs now if they want to avoid rising costs in December.

Energy companies are blaming unrest in the Middle East and the Fukushima nuclear crisis that followed an earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March for pushing up energy costs. Energy resources have been diverted to power stations in Japan to help with energy demands.

It seems that price hikes are inevitable with energy suppliers such as Npower and British Gas already withdrawing their cheapest fixed tariffs for new customers and replacing them with more expensive deals.

Changing over to a fixed rate tariff just now might be your only chance to hold on to a cheaper gas and electricity tariff until the oil prices and political unrest in the Middle East stabilise.
